Stop Them!

Are the Presidential candidates blind to what is going on? Instead of diluting the debate in America with irrelevant subjects such as gay daughters and billionaire wives, would it be too much to ask for our "leaders" to have a meaningful discussion of the real war, the stakes, the Mullahs in Iran, and how America is going to truly defend freedom? "Freedom"-infused rhetoric absent of a sound policy to back it up hardly solves the problems we face!

"The mullahs of the Islamic Republic have, at several times, shown their thirst for carnage in the past 25 years of ruling over Iran . They have a long history of plotting suicide attacks and waging wars internationally and silencing any opposing voice domestically. Having brutalized the Iranian nation all throughout these years, having kept most of the people under the poverty line, one shouldn't be astonished on how these "men of Allah" have had absolutely no problem finding recruits and sending poor souls after the so-called promised paradise through shedding the blood of other humans. If you are an Iranian, it wouldn't be very strange for you to have at least one dear and near lost at the bloody hands of these shopkeepers of religion. The infamousness of the Shiite clerics of Iran is not a new story to be told over again, as they are already known to the world as the "bad guys".

The reason for writing this article is, however, not retelling the same old story, but an untold one, I am sure you haven't heard yet.

Almost a month ago the Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's appointed judge in the province of "Mazandaran", in the South of the Caspian sea , sentenced "Atefeh Rajabi" a 16-year-old girl to death for committing adultery. The poor girl, deprived of even the very basic motherly love, was hanged in the public before the dismayed eyes of a people who have long forgotten that they were no more living than "Atefeh" was now. Just before she was hanged, "Atefeh" had willed everything she possessed to the poor girls like herself. A short time later, it was revealed that the Islamic judge and a few of his men had raped this little girl before hanging her.

The tragedy of "Atefeh" was still inflicting its heavy and painful burden on the Iranians' conscience that a report came out proclaiming that another girl, 13-year-old "Zheela", was sentenced to "stoning to death" by another Islamic judge in the city of "Marivan", Western Iran. This poor child is sentenced to death because she has been impregnated by her 15-year-old brother.

I am deeply astounded by the level of some of your politicians' credulity speaking of peace and a "better tomorrow" while they see that Islamic fundamentalism is literally marring the fresh minds of future parents of our world. Can't they see what is happening to "Zheela"? Couldn't they see what happened in "Beslan"? Can't they see us? Having been brought up in an "Islamiorated" society where seeing coffins and wild mobs in our streets was an everyday experience I don't really know how many years should pass before we will be able to gain our mental health back.

If the world cannot save little "Zheela" from these brutal Islamic militants, then how could your politicians speak of disarming them from their nuclear weapons?

Saving her is undoubtedly the right thing to do.

Let us not forget that "It may not always be easy, convenient, or politically correct to stand for truth and right, but it is the right thing to do - Always."

The European Union has not ears nor eyes for the Iranian people.

We need to boycott the EU and the EU companies.

Posted by: Stefania at October 19, 2004 03:15 PM

Boycots! Pah!

Sanctions! It is to laugh.

The U.S. embargo on Cuba has been going on for thirty plus years and Castro is still in power. Saddam subverted the U.N. for tweleve years and was still deeply entrenched by the end of his reign. Dictators aren't ousted except at the point of a bayonet.

So what would you have us do to remove the Mullas? They aren't going to be brought down by sanctions or resolutions. If a bastard like Saddam can play that game for tweleve years, subverting the U.N. and bribing members with "Oil for Food" money, what makes you think these devils will be any easier?

You want the world to save little "Zheela"? Sanctions, resolutions, editorial, candle-light vigils, boycotts and all that other world-opinion feel-good crap won't do squat! It won't work, not in twelve years - not in a million.

The only way they will be ousted is with guns and bombs and blood. And it won't be quick or small. This will have to be on a scale that will mow down a thousand Zheelas in the crossfire.

What do you want? The U.S. slipping arms across the border so half-trained militia can take on the Iranian army? American B2 bombers dropping bunker busters on the Defense Minsitry? Armored divisions rolling down your highways blasting anything that stands in the way? Carriers off the coast launching strikes against barracks full of Iranian soldiers?

So what will it be?

Boggers of the world, here's a way to go around the MSM to get the word out on the Mad Mullahs of Iran who believe they have the "Divine right" to hang the innocents.

It could be your daughter next! The Mad Mullahs are about to go nuclear. United the bloggers of the world and put a stop to this insanity.

John: You're whacked out comment are uncalled for and you don't seem to represent any camp - except that you do seem to make a good ally of the Europeans and the mullahs who would gladly love a war.

You need Michael Ledeen to give you a nice bitch-slapping as far as I'm concerned!

John is being a bit over-the-top. I doubt it would take that much bloodshed to overthrow the mullahs.

But, as much as I hoped for many long years that it could be done peacefully, I now believe it cannot. What price are you willing to pay for the Zheelas of your country?

We could invade and defeat your mullahs, with much less bloodshed than John implies. But there still would be blood shed. And most of it would not be ours. Nor would you have the pride of freeing yourselves. We would be invaders, even if we were friendly invaders.

It should not fall on the young among you to remove the mullahs. It was your parents who put them there. They fought a minor tyranny to replace it with a major tyranny. It is they who should fight to correct their mistake. They aren't that old that they can no longer fight. I knew them in their youth (at the same age) and I can still fight.

They were fools to fall for Khomenei but they were once fools with passion. Reignite their passion. Perhaps this time they will listen to their children and help you get it right.

Kathy and John - with all due respect, it wasn't our "parents" it was the policy of the British, French, Germans and Americans (Carter Admin/Brezenski) to say f*** the Shah and the Iranian people and put the Khomeini into power. This wasn't a natural evolution of Iran - let me make that very clear. The horror that the instllation of Khomeini created not to mention the Iran/Iraq war which was funded and instigated the whole time by the West did nothing but hurt the region as a whole.

There is no invasion needed -it's called supporting the Iranian people.

I suggest you read some of good articles being published at places like national review or iranvajahan.net -

Ah yes, shoot the messenger. That's clear thinking.

Am I over the top? Just look at the posts before me. Boycotting the EU because they don't support you? Sheesh!

I'm trying to get you to see clearly. Letter writing campaings or not buying a Belgian chocolate at the corner store aren't enough.

Those brave students in Iran who are putting their lives on the line by resisting, violently where they can, are the ones who will succeed. These are the ones who will take back their country. No resolutions at the U.N. will stop the Mullas; they might be less blatant in their oppression for a time but they won't be removed by pieces of paper.

And it's got to be the Iranian people who do it, freedom can't be imported by the U.S. I do support them, as much as I can by supporting Bush's stance with Iran (They're next on the Axis of Evil list). The Mullas will not get the bomb nor stay long in power if Bush has another four years. The election here must be won first, however.

As for the U.S. *installing* Khomini, the worst we did is blunder terribly by not doing anything. It was the Iranians that actually put him on the throne, not that dolt Carter. (As for that, the first thing I did when I turned 18 was vote against him; that was quite a shock to my Georgia Democrat family.)

Finally, the Iran/Iraq war was started by Saddam, not the West. He thought he could grab some territory, same as Kuiwait. The Iranians rallied to their Motherland despite the loathsomeness of the rulers (like the Russians of WWII) and fought him to a standstill. Did we support Saddam? To a small amount yes, because the Mullas were exporting terrorism. Anyway, that's water under the bridge.

My main, over-the-top point was removing the Mullas, something I greatly desire, will be costly. Those Arab thugs the Mullas are using... whatdoyoucallem... anyway those Al Quadea junior wannabes don't shrink from violence and cannot be handled any other way.

Are you willing to pay the cost?

John, I think what stefania and others are saying is that they are pissed at EU policy to Iran. I'm sure they understand boycotts will succeed in doing nothing but garnering a bit of attention and some grins.

The bottomline is that the Iranian people will ultimately have to overthrow the Mullahs, but the more support and anti-mullah policies that are launched from the west, the better the chance is that Iranians will succeed in an overthrow.

John, as far as history is concerned. You're understanding is unfortunately the false impression the mainstream media and govts of the time led you to think. Yes, some Iranians were upset with the Shah, but they did not want to nor did they knowingly install the Shah. The Shah was getting too powerful - very nationalistic - many countries feared price of oil hike as well as some kind of alliance with Russia - which wouldn't have likely occured.

Khomeini was a British/French stooge - a construct of the Europeans -and Carter administration especially with Brezenski, they loved the fact that they could establish the "green belt" around communism - so they turned their back on the Shah and allowed the Khoemeni regime to be flown in from Europe.

Iranians did not want this regime PERIOD!!!!

There are a lot of good books out there - if you want some suggestions I can give you some.

John, what you think is the alternative to sanctions ?

Trade with the Mullahs ?

Just wondering..

Posted by: Stefania at October 20, 2004 11:45 AM

The alternative to sanctions (which don't work - see Cuba) is violent overthrow. I like to imagine that while Iran is ifiltrating their terrorist agents into Iraq, we're slipping some of the mountains of captured weapons into Iran. Say, whatever happened to those Iranian anti-Mulla malcontents whom Saddam was harboring? They kind'a dropped out of site after the war, didn't they? I wonder what they are up to now? I hope they found gainful employment.

I don't favor sanctions since they can be subverted given enough oil money (see Saddam). I'd like to see the U.S. take the same stand it took with Iraq (i.e. it became official policy of the U.S. government to have Saddam removed). I'd like the U.N.(ultra-corrupt dictator debating society) sidelined so that maybe it won't take twelve years before any action is taken. I'd like the nuclear Non-proliferation treaty enforced before they get the bomb, probably by force since that's the only thing that works.

To that end, I do what I can to make that policy change realizable- I write my congress man and senators to try to get them to take that stand. I work to get those elected who hold that position. It's not the same level as the students who put their lives on the line; but, after all, Iran is their country.
