In 1980, an unemployed electrician named Lech Walesa jumped a fence to join striking workers at a shipyard in Gdansk. Within months, he became leader of Poland's opposition Solidarity movement. At first, the Communist Party split into three wings: conservative (i.e., status quo totalitarian), reform, and moderate. Later, the Party ended the party and a military government led by Gen. Jaruzelski came to power. While many opposition activists were jailed, they were not murdered for Jaruzelski said, "Polish soldiers will not kill Polish civilians." After Communism fell, Walesa became Poland's first freely elected President since before World War II.

In the meantime, the Poles engaged in masterful passive resistance. Their methods included:

1. Women wore black ribbons in mourning or even dressed completely in black.

2. Military trainees cheered wildly whenever the U.S.S.R. was mentioned, thereby disrupting their training.

3. Students deliberately failed Russian courses.

4. In Czerniak, someone got tired of the government's propandistic television newscast, put his television in his window and went for a walk. Soon, he was joined by thousands of his fellow townsmen. The government imposed a curfew during the newscast. So, the promenade occurred during the day's other newscast.

Translating these methods to Iran:

1. I'm not sure. Any ideas?

2. Cheer in training and class whenever Khomeini, the Islamic Republic, Khamanei et al. are mentioned.

3. Deliberately fail Arabic classes.

4. Go for a walk during the television news.

Any more ideas?

this is my favorite of all! great idea.
Iran's Military is already against the regime and they have said when the day comes, they'll be protecting the people not regime!

so IRI has special hezbollah & loyalist forces! some of them even had joined the movement. mullahs had to send about a hundred of TOP ranking 'pasdaran' to Execution in Public, just to scare the rest from betraying the ayatollahs!

The rest of their Gaurds, are only after money and power, and majority of those who get there are also heavily addicted to opium and drugs!

So mullahs are left with bunch of gready addicts to protect them! Twisted Evil more likely the 'pasdaran' is already dreaming about a coup to topple them! Laughing

Even the mullahs, the officials and majority of those who side with IRI don't watch mullahs' TV anymore!

interesting you mentioned about putting tv on the window sill and going for a walk.
reminded me of the youth in tehran who used to carry these big sterios on their shoulder while climbing up the hills...where thousands go for weekend getaway. hillsides have always been a place of anti-regime demo for the youth.
