It seems like there is an increasing polarization of West vs East. Is Iran being pulled away more and more from the Western world and getting sucked into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)? Is China and perhaps other members of SCO behind Ahmadinejad's recent bellicosity?
It seems like it won't be long before Iran joins SCO:

MOSCOW, Oct 27 Asia Pulse - India on Wednesday strongly pitched for full membership of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation contending its inclusion could help combat terrorism, provide stability and promote energy sector cooperation.
"We would like to actively cooperate with our SCO partners to make a positive contribution to agreed areas of activities of SCO," External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh said here addressing the meeting of SCO Council of Heads of Governments meeting this evening.
India was attending the meeting for the first time since getting observer status in July in the regional grouping comprising Russia, China and five Central Asian republics set up initially for confidence building measures along former Sino-Soviet border. Pakistan, Iran and Mongolia are also observers of SCO.
Holding out the bait of India's fast growing energy requirements, particularly for hydro-carbon rich Central Asian countries, Singh affirmed New Delhi's interest in building Iran-Pakistan-India and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipelines.
"It would be worthwhile if energy cooperation could become a priority sector within the ambit of SCO activities," Singh said proposing to convene regular meetings of Energy Ministers under the SCO framework.
According to Singh cooperation in development of International North-South Corridor (INSTC) could give cost-effective and more efficient access to land-locked Central Asian members of SCO. |

I seriously doubt it Sudi, Antar's abysmal terroristic comments were a byproduct of homegrown idiocy and ideology, and only serve to further isolate the IRI. |
