International Committee to Save the Archeological Sites of Pasargad

1. Due to the fact that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has decided to enter into the operational phase of the Sivand Dam that, according to experts’ opinion, will drawn the archeological sites of Pasargad, including the tomb of Cyrus the Great and the whole Persepolice site, and soon there would not be anything of these historical treasure left for the generations to come, this Committee is being set up to investigate means, and execute methods, of stopping this horrendous act.
2. The Committee will endeavor to gather as much information as possible about this case on the one hand, and to obtain technical opinions of different experts on the other.
3. The Committee will continuously try to contact international organizations and their responsible officers who are commissioned to monitor the process of preservation of cultural and archeological treasures all over the world.
4. The Committee will establish its local chapters all over the world to gather interested parties and experts around the goals and actions of this Committee.
5. All Committee’s chapters will be engaged in holding gatherings, lectures, demonstrations, as well as publications of articles and pamphlet relevant to this communal goal.
6. The interested people who volunteer to become a member of this Committee should complete an application form with their real names and addresses and should declare their willingness to dedicate some of their time and energy to fulfill the goals of the Committee.
7. The Committee is being established in Denver, Colorado, USA as of the above date by the two founding members who have signed this document. As soon as the Committee has 11 members, they will act as the first General Meeting of the organization and will elect the following officers from amongst themselves and future volunteers over the next three:
a. Committee’s spokesperson
b. Committee’s administrator
c. Committee’s legal advisor
d. Committee’s technical advisor
8. The presence of the Committee members and officers in one place is not required and electronic means of communication would suffice for this purpose.
9. The officers are elected for one year from the date of their election.
10. All activities of the members and officers of the Committee are based on voluntary work and none of the Committee’s chapters and members is allowed to embark on any kind of fund raising. All gatherings and lectures should also be held upon volunteer works of interested parties.
11. Committee has an open membership policy and welcomes everbody from all nations of the world.
12. The official languages used by the Committee for legal purposes are Persian and English.
