This is from Babak , on SMCCDI :

http://www.daneshjoo.org/cgi-bin/messageboard/ikonboard.cgi?s=69753528053c8f16e5e5995a6ff76870;act=ST;f=1;t=723;st=0

Today the Islamic regime has blocked all mountain access from the village of Kaleybar (Northeast of Tabriz) in order to keep people from reaching the fortress of Babake Khorramdin in celebration of his birthday.

Babak was a populist Iranian leader who rejected Islam and fought against the Abbasid Caliphate for 20 years.

His epithet Khorramdin implies that he was a follower of the ancient Iranian form of Mithraism (Khor/Khorshid/Sun + Din/faith). Thus, he advocated justice and equality. He has since been claimed by all northern Iranian groups including Persians, Kurds and Azeris (Azeris have since been Turkicized, but still continue to regard Babak as a national hero).

thanks Stefania!

I thought khoramdin had something to do with khorame, mazdaks wife, who was believed to have survived the tazi invasion. By calling himself khoramdin he wanted to state he was a follower of khorame and mazdak's religion.
Has anyone any additional info on this subject?

The correct name is Papak (it means little 'Papa' or father). The b sound instead of p, is a corruption from Arabic.

The Murderous Mullah$ issued a Fatwa calling legendary Persian folk hero Babak e Khoramdin a Moharem, or enemy of Islam last year.

His Nom De Guerre, Khorramdin, means joyous religion. It is a reference to Zoroastrianism, which is often called the religion of joy, and also because they believed in being happy & joyous.

In recent years, thousands had been converging to climb up to the fortress for his birthday, this had really scared the Mullah$ which prompted all the stuff about Babak being an enemy of Islam last year.

Ultimately though, the more the Murderous Mullah$ ban him, the more he is celebrated by the people.

Mullah$ are all SCUM= Sadistic, Crazy, Ugly, Mullah$!

Zende Bad Babak E Khoramdeen !!!
Rohash shad
Yadash Hameeshe Gerami

PS. He wroe red and his followers were called the 'red shirts' . Red is the most popular color in not just Persian carpets and fabrics, but its also the most popular color for tribal costumes. Khomeini banned the color red!

MULLAHS IMPOSED THE CULT OF A NON IRANIAN LIKE ALI AND FORBIDDEN THE IRANIANS TO PAY HOMAGE TO AN IRANIAN HERO.
