اخیرأ کتابی به نام "The Persian Puzzle, By Kenneth Pollack, American specialist on Middle East“ منتشر شده که در صفحهء 387 آن اینطور آمده است : "در سال 1999 ایران خیلی نزدیک به یک رولوسیون، انقلاب بود.

*****************************************************

The Iranian people have clearly rejected the Islamist regime by overwhelmingly (90%) boycotting the Mullah's last election. The BOYCOTT WAS A TRUE REFERENDUM AGAINST THE MULLAHS THAT THEY MUST GIVE UP THE POWER AND So FAR THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN ANY INDICATION THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO STEP DOWN AND GIVE UP POWER IN A PEACEFUL MANNER!
EU Big 3 ignored the legitimate rights of Iranian people and their demands, they negotiated with the Regime and signed contracts with illegitimate Islamist Regime.
The Feb 2004 election/boycott is the latest and best example that the Mullahs are not willing to give up peacefully while the EU Big 3 are supporting them. So far the EU Big 3 has shown that they are the enemy of Iranian freedom, and the Iranian people. The EU Big 3 have used many tricks and tactics to keep the Mullahs in power as long as possible.

Please Support the following petition with clear steps for Regime Change:

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO WIN THE WAR ON TERROR - THE WAR IS UNWINNABLE AS LONG AS THE MULLAHS ARE IN POWER - SUPPORT THE IRANIAN PEOPLE AND REAP THE REWARDS OF A FREE IRAN WITH 70 MILLION IRANIANS WHO WILL FIGHT ALONGSIDE THE FORCES OF FREEDOM AND AGAINST THE ISLAMIST FANATICS!!

Giving Deception And Falsehood the Gloss of Moral Sanction

In the first paragraph of the Sazgara---one of the architects of the Islamic Republic’s Revolutionary Guards, and a servant of the Islamist regime some 25 years longer than the three months he has enjoyed as “opposition”---petition for a “referendum” to have some yet-undesignated individuals write a new constitution for the Islamic Republic, the following declaration is made to characterize the kind of government favored by its initiators:

“There is but one ultimate path for ending the continuing state of crisis and freeing the suffering Iranian nation: The Creation of a Democratic System of Government which is in harmony with the Provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”

To non-Iranians who rightly regard the Shiite Taliban as criminal organization, but who are innocent of the intricacies of Iranian politics, the murderous regime’s history and its remarkable ability to change its color, this may seem as something Iranians opposed to the Islamist Republic should welcome. That, perhaps, can be attributed to their having no personal stakes involved in the matter: So long as the Islamic Republic behaves well, so long as it does not threat our interests, let it remain an Islamic Republic.

Questions as to whether or not the initiators of the petition are in earnest about the kind of government they favor and which their petition and referendum promises, have already been the subject of much debate. Many believe that they are not in earnest; that were such a referendum to take place, it would inevitably save the SYSTEM at the expense, at the very most, of a label. As they know no shame whatever, it is not difficult to foresee the emergence even of a “Secular/Democratic Islamic Republic”.

Therefore here we will consider another question, a basic one intrinsic to the argument, without the extraneous circumstances: Can a democratic system of government be in harmony with the Provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and remain an Islamic Republic? Put another way: Is the concept of an Islamic Republic compatible with the UDHR? Here I’m addressing those Iranians who have signed or plan to sign the petition, whom I do not necessarily consider its supporters. There is, after all, a marked difference between those who signed it believing that it is a step in the direction of a real referendum, an the clowns in various Iranian forums trying to shove the thing down people’s throats, ridiculing everyone and anyone in their way.

If you are a secularist Iranian, that is, one opposed to the very idea of an Islamic Iran, the answer will disappoint you, for there are no provisions in the UDHR in support of the separation of Mosque from the state!

Asked in a recent conference by Zia Atabay to point out the UDHR provision in support of the above declaration, one with which the concept of an Islamic Republic would be incompatible, Shahzadeh Reza Pahlavi referred to UDHR Article 18. Here it is:

Article 18
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

The kind of “democratic system of government” advertised may well be in harmony with the provisions of the UDHR, but such harmony does not preclude the emergence of another Islamic Republic as the result, if not the aim, of such a petition.

Readers here may also want to have a look at the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s new constitution.

In the Preamble, it is stated: We the people of Afghanistan….Observing the United Nations Charter and respecting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,...

YET...

Article One, Chapter One: Afghanistan is an Islamic Republic independent, unitary and indivisible state.

Article Two, Chapter One: The religion of Afghanistan is the sacred religion of Islam. Followers of other religions are free to perform their religious rites within the limits of the provisions of law.

Article Three, Chapter One: In Afghanistan, no law can be contrary to the sacred religion of Islam and the values of this Constitution.

Article Sixty-Two, Chapter Three: Presidential candidates should posses the following qualifications: Be…a Muslim, …

Article Sixty-three, Chapter Three: The President-elect, prior to assuming his duties, performs the following oath:…I swear to obey and safeguard of the sacred religion of Islam, ……

p.s. I had planned to post something better than the above on this subject, but having read the post by my dear compatriot Spenta---an echo of my own fears, a kind of fear which, even IF deemed as unreasonable, is rather difficult for non-Iranians to comprehend---I decided to write something that would justify the existence of such fears.

Some people just don't get it, or are slow and it takes time for them to get it.

I'm just glad that MY country is about to get rid of the same SHIITE that Afghans joyfully or at least with no objections have decided to erect for themselves in their country! Iranians learnt it the hard way and maybe that is how Afghans have to learn it as well...it seems.

I just cannot see how any sane and/or informed person would wish such misery upon themselves.

Dear Khorshid,

I certainly hope that Iraq will not endup with a Sharia law theocracy, or Sharia driven fake democracy, but as I have always said ... in the absence of monarchy, the Mullah$ reign supreme. Without a monarch, you will always have elected officials bowing to the symbolic power of some Ayatollah. Europe needed its monarchies to break from the chain, without monarchy there never would have been a Reformation. It will be no different in the ME. Sadly neither Afghanistan or Iraq could have a monarchy, which is why they have Sharia law and why their elected officials will have to toe the line with the Mullah$, and back away from any confrontation on the abuses and excesses of the Mullah$. But Iran unlike Afghanistan and Iraq can have a monarch, and I hope it goes for a monarch instead of a dysfunctional and corrupt Republic where the president is for sale by the highest bidder, in between ki$$ing Mullah a$$!

Shocked

Dear Spenta that was the weirdest thing I ever heard that is why Iam responding. In general I dont like to argue over monarchy or republic since we have a country to reclaim before we can watch how the votes turn out!

It is the general knowledge and common sense that determains the faith of a nation not absense of a monarach and hence theocracy.!!!

In some cases like Iran under MRP, religion was used and supported instead of knowlede and information.

Book wich revealed the true nature of islam were forbidden while the king of aryans went to mecca and kissed the arab symbols.

The problem is not lack of a monarch, the problem is lack of information.

Dear Spenta that was the weirdest thing I ever heard that is why I am responding.

Is that so? The weirdest? As I can anticipate your answer, “Well, not the weirdest,” don’t you think you should be more careful with your choice of words? Also, do I understand you correctly, you respond only to what you consider weird? Can you think of no other weird opinion or article posted in the several boards that you monitor to which you did not respond? Good. Do you get my point: Your opener is so silly, not to say weird, that one wonders, where he not familiar with your criteria for things needing repudiation, and despite your claim that in general (thus allowing for exceptions) you don’t like to argue “over monarchy or republic” whether or not you responded only to repudiate for the sake of repudiation. Iranians do have a country to reclaim, but the monarchy/republic question is not the unimportant issue you try to make it appear, for Iran should not be reclaimed for self-centered, greedy and openly anti-Iranian prostitutes whose daily and hourly declarations, far from meeting your repudiating, have received your consent through silence. Modesty, you know, is a very good thing.

It is the general knowledge and common sense that determines the faith of a nation not absence of a monarch and hence theocracy.!!!

It is generally accepted that knowledge and common sense are essential. However, I should imagine quite a number of other factors involved in determining the fate of a nation. A less condescending thinker would have first considered the proposition on the smallest scale, that is, factors which determine the fate of an individual. Nevertheless, when additionally you introduce another subject into what is essentially an abstract speculative subject (abstract in your presentation of it) by ruling out, categorically, the role of political/cultural figures, a monarch in particular, in determining the success or failure of a nation, you are, if I may say, biting more than you can chew. For a people to be knowledgeable, they must be provided with a good education. In order to have a good education they must have a government that creates and maintains educational institutions. You know perfectly well that the Mullahs and the feudalist landowners were opposed to modernization. In the absence of a powerful monarch to over-rule these parasites, you still underestimate their positive role?

In some cases like Iran under MRP, religion was used and supported instead of knowledge and information.

What does this mean? Religion was “used” and “supported” INSTEAD of knowledge and information! Badbakhte bisavad, khodet miduni chi migi?

Book which revealed the true nature of Islam were forbidden while the king of Aryans went to Mecca and kissed the Arab symbols.

Were they all forbidden? Was the Qoran, which reveals the true nature of Islam more than any other book, forbidden? Those that were blacklisted, they were blacklisted for what purpose? The Islamists, supported by the landlords, would go on a rampage on any issue benefiting Iranian women. What do you think they would have done with educational institutions, only in their infancy, that criticized Islam itself? Why do you underestimate the power of the Islamist clergy and try to blame everything on the Iranian King? Kissed Arab Symbols? Olagh, do you think he would have survived a week without pleasing your father and grandfather with acknowleding his religion? If I remember correctly, you republicans, now all claiming to be secularists, accused him THEN of not kissing Arab symbols enough. Have you no shame?
