Al Gore?s Arab Pander
By Lowell Ponte
FrontPageMagazine.com | February 14, 2006

Al Gore, the Vice President under President Bill Clinton and the losing 2000 Democratic Party presidential candidate, last Sunday was in Saudi Arabia, bad-mouthing the United States. Was Gore?s motive money and political ambition?
America?s government committed ?terrible abuses? against Arabs following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Gore told a Saudi audience at the Jiddah Economic Forum. Arabs had been ?indiscriminately rounded up,? said Gore, and held in ?unforgivable? conditions.
Gore did not mention that 15 of the 19 terrorists who carried out mass murder on September 11 in the United States were Saudis.
Nor did Gore mention that his fellow leftists such as filmmaker Michael Moore had, until their claim was discredited, accused President George W. Bush of being too kind towards Saudi Arabs. President Bush, they falsely claimed, had allowed members of the large bin Laden family (from which al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama is an estranged black sheep) to leave the United States without being questioned by authorities.
?The worst thing we can possibly do,? Gore told the Arab audience, ?is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between
Saudi Arabia and the United States.?

?Gore refused to be drawn into questions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,? wrote Associated Press reporter Jim Krane. ?We can?t solve that long conflict in exchanges here,? Gore told his Saudi audience, thereby refusing to say any word in support of Israel.
Gore chose as his vice presidential running mate in 2000 Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman, a devout Jew and unabashed supporter of Israel. Jewish Americans had for decades been among the constituency groups that voted disproportionately for Democratic candidates.
But in the pivotal state of Michigan, America?s Muslim population now exceeds that of Jews, as may soon be the case nationwide.
More importantly, Muslim money from such voters and even more so from abroad is becoming an influential factor in America?s presidential elections.
In October 2003 aspiring Democratic presidential candidate Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts traveled to Dearborn, Michigan, to speak before an Arab-American conference. In this speech Mr. Kerry trashed Israel?s anti-terrorist security fence, calling this purely defensive measure ?provocative and counterproductive,? declaring it would ?increase hardships to the Palestinian people.?
?We do not need another barrier to peace,? Kerry said of Israel?s fence to the supportive Arab-American audience.
In 2004, Kerry?s campaign marked a shift by Democrats away from their traditional Jewish constituency towards a subtle ?anti-Zionism? that could appeal to a global constituency of oil-rich Muslims. This shift is being driven by demographics, money, and anti-Israel/anti-American activists who have taken control of the Democratic Party.
By 2008, a Democratic Party dependent on funds from Muslim oil interests and multinational radical billionaires like George Soros (who funneled more than $27 million to Kerry in 2003-4, he said, to make the United States weaker in the world) could become surreal. It likely will feature Democratic presidential candidates vying to be the most anti-American and anti-Semitic. (In such a contest today, Hillary Clinton with her long and discomforting track record on anti-Semitism could easily win).
No wonder Al Gore no longer voices support for Israel when speaking to wealthy Arabs. Oil money has been ?Ali Baba? Gore?s magic carpet to political power and, he hopes, could be so again.
Israel?s fence has been opposed by terrorist groups, among them Hamas, winner of the recent Palestinian election. Hamas and similar groups have received significant financial support from the radical Islamist regime in Iran. But so, it appears, have John Kerry and Al Gore.
One of the largest political contributors to Kerry and Gore has been Iranian Hassan Nemazee, who has filed lawsuits denying Iranian expatriot accusations that he acts as a conduit for cash and lobbying influence for Iran?s theocratic mullahs. Nemazee, as this column reported, contributed more than $180,000 to Kerry?s primary campaign.
Nemazee also raised $250,000 for Al Gore in November 1995. Nemazee and his family also contributed the legal maximum of $60,000 to Bill Clinton?s legal defense fund and slushed another $150,000 to the Democratic National Committee. In 2000, Nemazee gave $50,000 to his friend Al Gore?s Recount Fund.
The source of such money is, of course, oil. But oil wealth is nothing new to Albert Gore Jr. His senator father?s fortune and son Gore?s own portfolio today have gotten the lion?s share of their money from Occidental Petroleum and its eccentric head Armand Hammer, whose father founded the Communist Party USA and before his death acknowledged carrying millions of dollars in cash from Moscow to fund the CPUSA.
The Gore family has controlled up to $1 million worth of Occidental stock, and Al Gore Jr. has pocketed up to $20,000 per year by leasing mineral rights on Gore property to an Occidental zinc mining operation cited for polluting the adjacent Tennessee River.
Despite an apparent conflict of interest that this column reported in 2000, the Clinton-Gore administration in 1997 allowed Occidental Petroleum to buy 47,000 acres of the U.S. Navy?s Elk Hills strategic oil reserve near Bakersfield, California, for only $100 per acre. This purchase tripled Occidental?s corporate oil reserve and boosted the value of its stock by about 10 percent ? and Gore family shares by about $100,000. (Interestingly, Elk Hills was also involved in the Teapot Dome scandal, which erupted because Republican President Warren G. Harding?s Interior Secretary in 1921 sold access to it to private oil interests.)
Gore even had the chutzpah to hire a firm to assess the ?environmental cost? of this Occidental-Elk Hills deal ? the firm of ICF Kaiser on whose Board of Directors sat Gore?s future campaign chairman, the former California Congressman who resigned under a cloud of financial scandal Tony Coehlo. Coehlo, further enriched by Gore?s shell game, would also later be a campaign director in 2004 for John Kerry.
Luckily for Gore, the leftist national media is eager to cover up Democratic scandals and corruption. Occidental, incidentally, has oil interests in many nations, among them Russia and the Muslim nations of Yemen, Qatar, Oman, Libya, and Pakistan.
Despite his environmentalist hysteria, Gore has rightly earned the nickname ?Oily Al.? How strange it is that the so-called mainstream media relentlessly accuses President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney of somehow being linked to Big Oil but never exposes how former Vice President Al Gore?s life and entire political career have been largely fueled by oil wealth.
Like most other politicians who want to be the Democratic standard-bearer in 2008, Al Gore has a problem. New York Senator Hillary Clinton may be unpopular with many in her party, but she has gotten commitments from most partisan and left-wing money men and kingmakers, having already amassed a war chest estimated at more than $150 million in political cash and IOUs. She has preemptively sucked up most Democratic seed money in the political system, leaving little for would-be opponents.
Al Gore and the other rivals to Senator Clinton will need lots of money to overcome her mountain of cash. Gore, apparently in search of money last Sunday, literally went to the well of Saudi Arabia to bow in supplication before its sheiks.
Gore has gone on his knees to other gods before, from Buddhist monks to the mullahs of Iran. Nobody should be surprised to see him on his knees in Saudi Arabia, putting his lips at the service of the propaganda of Islamist terrorists. But how can any sane American ever believe or support such an oil-stained, prostituted politician who apparently hates his country?

Al Gore Event Funded by Bin Laden's Family

The Saudi Arabia seminar that was addressed by former Vice President Al Gore over the weekend in a speech that criticized the U.S. for being too tough on Arabs was sponsored, in part, by Osama bin Laden's family.

On Saturday, the state-run Saudi news outlet Arab News reported that the Jeddah Economic Forum, where Gore spoke, was funded by "Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Saudi Binladin Group, Gulf One Investment Bank, Saudi Basic Industries Corp." and an array of other big companies with ties to the Middle East.

The Saudi BinLadin Group - which is Saudi Arabia's largest construction company - is run by Osama bin Laden's brothers and cousins. Jeddah, the site of the forum attended by Gore, is Osama bin Laden's hometown.

Although family members claim they've disowned bin Laden, his mother told reporters after the 9/11 attacks that she received advanced warning from him that something big was about to happen.

A wealthy bin Laden niece also reportedly abandoned her lower Manhattan apartment three weeks before the 9/11 attacks.
The BinLadin Group's longtime involvement in the Jeddah forum has been widely reported in the Mideast and European press.

In January 2002, ex-President Clinton addressed the JEF, which paid him $267,000 for his speech. According to London's Financial Times:

"The conference was dominated by the Saudis' desire to overcome the pressures of September 11 and strengthen U.S.-Saudi ties . . . The BinLadin Group, one of the forum's backers, has been battered by its association with Osama."

Other JEF speakers that year included President Bush's younger brother, Neil.

It's not known whether - or how much - Mr. Gore was paid for his speech.

REMEMBER THIS????

THOUGHT YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN THIS FORGOTTEN PIECE OF INFORMATION~~~

--------------------------------------------------------

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news
video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but
what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to

$60,000 for a home security system?"

Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience,
"Isn't that just a little excessive?"
"No, sir," continued Ollie.
"No? And why not?" the senator asked.
"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."
"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.
"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.
"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"

"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce
it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.

"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of",
Ollie answered.
"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.
"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

Also:

Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."

However, the Israelis would not release any one with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released!

Thus, Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center.

This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports.

If you agree that the American public should be made aware of this fact, pass this on.

Do Not Break - it is 3 years strong
This is why I always say I love YOU....
This has not been broken since 9/11/01, please keep it going...
This has been kept alive and moving since 9/11. In memory of all those who perished that morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders.

Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.

Kerry's Iran scandal

By Kenneth R. Timmerman

The Kerry-Edwards campaign is headed toward a campaign finance scandal involving contributions on behalf of a foreign power, similar to allegations that plagued Bill Clinton's re-election in 1996. Instead of Communist China, this time the foreign power seeking to influence a U.S. presidential candidate is the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world's premier state sponsor of international terror.
The Chinese sought U.S. military technology to enhance their nuclear missiles. The record shows the Clinton administration provided them key assistance in that area.

The so-called "Islamic" republic of Iran is seeking from Mr. Kerry a series of concessions that would allow them to become a nuclear weapons power and circumvent the restrictions of the USA Patriot act to infiltrate intelligence agents and potential terrorists into the United States.
How could Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards, who claim to be able to defend America better than President Bush, allow themselves to fall into such a trap? Top Kerry and Edwards advisers warned both candidates against accepting campaign donations from people with close ties to mullahs in Tehran months ago, sources inside their respective campaigns say. And yet, neither Mr. Kerry nor Mr. Edwards has done anything to distance himself from these donors. On the contrary, both have continued to take their money and promote their agenda.
Mr. Kerry adopted a key element of that agenda in last week's presidential debate. If president, he said he would have "offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel" to Iran, to "test them, see whether or not they were actually looking for it for peaceful purposes." Mr. Kerry's words brought comfort to Tehran's top mullahs, who have been seeking to buy time from the international community for the past two years while they continue perfecting their nuclear weapons capabilities.
Even the International Atomic Energy Agency is no longer willing to certify Iran's "peaceful purposes" in seeking nuclear technology. I heard that personally from the lips of IAEA Director General Mohammad el Baradei while reporting from Vienna, Austria, two weeks ago during a board of governers meeting on Iran's case.
And yet, Mr. Kerry thinks the United States should open trade with Iran's clerics, not isolate them — as if concessions could convince them to abandon their pursuit of 20 years duration in the face of U.S. and international punishment.
Mr. Kerry's support for a pro-regime agenda is troubling as America enters an extremely difficult phase of the war on terror. Tehran's mullahs are playing a sophisticated shell game with their nuclear capabilities. Like a drunken reveler at a county fair, Mr. Kerry has bought the empty shell, while proudly insisting that "as president, I'll never take my eye off that ball."
Top among the pro-regime fund-raisers who have contributed to the Kerry campaign is a recent Iranian immigrant in California named Susan Akbarpour.
Miss Akbarpour came to this country in 1997, claiming to be a political refugee. In seeking asylum, she told U.S. authorities she feared she would be persecuted if she was forced to return to Iran. And yet, in court records I examined in California and described in this month's American Spectator, Miss Akbarpour maintained a privileged relationship with government agencies of the Islamic Republic, even after she came the United States. (Her lawyers deny this, but in the settlement agreement the disputed document is allowed to stand).
Here in the United States, Miss Akbarpour has become an outspoken public supporter of the regime — odd behavior for someone who claims to have been persecuted in Iran. She has been one of the privileged few admitted to closed-door meetings with regime officials visiting the United States, and has been videotaped by Iranian television reporters in Los Angeles screaming at pro-freedom demonstrators. As part of her effort to build a pro-regime lobby among Iranian-American high-tech executives, she has hosted conferences to promote venture capital investment in Iran, though the Clinton administration made it illegal for U.S. citizens and permanent residents to invest in Iran.
The Kerry campaign credits Miss Akbarpour and her new husband, Faraj Aalaie, with each raising $50,000 to $100,000 for the presidential campaign. Mr. Aalaie is president of Centillium Communications, a Nasdaq-listed software firm.
These contributions continue despite even though Miss Akbarpour was not a permanent U.S. resident when she made her initial contribution to Mr. Kerry on June 17, 2002, as this reporter first revealed in March. (To be legal, campaign cash must come from U.S. citizens or permanent residents).
Miss Akbarpour, her husband and members of the Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC) hosted a fund-raiser featuring Rep. Anna Eshoo, California Democrat, last Sunday in California. Ms. Eshoo is a member of the House Permanent Select committee on Intelligence.
IAPAC's agenda includes opening trade with Iran and ending the fingerprinting of Iranians coming to the United States, two measures with pro-democracy advocates say will bolster the rule of radical clerics in Tehran and allow them to more easily send intelligence operatives to this country.
Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards need to distance themselves from the pro-regime lobbyists who are raising money for their campaign. To start with, they might return money raised by Susan Akbarpour, some of which was donated illegally. They might also explain how they would help bring freedom to Iran, instead of bringing comfort to the ruling mullahs.
