Here He Comes Again ... Ahmadinejad Booked for New York

Claudia Rosett
September 14, 2007 11:58 PM
Yes, courtesy of the United Nations, Iran’s nuclear-bomb-building, holocaust-denying, hostage-outfitting President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is planning yet another trip to New York, later this month, to attend yet another UN General Assembly opening which kicks off next week. Ahmedinejad plans to arrive on Sept. 23 for a two-day-visit, according to Iran’s Fars news agency, before heading south to drop in on his sulphur-sniffing chum now arranging to be president-for-life of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.

This will be the third time in three years that Ahmedinejad has come to Manhattan to ascend the UN stage, a privilege that the UN appears unwilling to withdraw no matter how many terrorists Iran sponsors, how many nascent nearby democracies it subverts, or how many UN resolutions, treaties, and basic human decencies the Iranian regime treats like doormats.

And, speaking of floor coverings, in the runup to Ahmedinejad’s imminent visit, Iran’s new ambassador to the UN, Mohammad Khazaee, has been paving the way — so to speak — for his arrival. Above is a photo currently posted prominently on the Iranian Mission web site, showing Khazaee presenting Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Sept. 12 with a carpet … the better to walk all over him?

(The photo caption on the Iranian Mission site reads: H.E. Ambassador Khazaee, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran presents to H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon the portray-rug of the Secretary General which has been weaven in Iran, 12 September 2007, New York).

Dear Spenta,
One comment that I have received with good points to consider.

Quote:
Let him come. He will make more fool of himself as he has it done before.
This idiot is more than mad. Every body knows that HE does not represent Iranians.
He represent a small mad ultra religous faction, which one can find almost in every country, U.S. included. HE is not unique or unusual at all.
If we make noise, we have fallen into a trap of IRI, to show the world that HE is an inportant element in our beloved land. But we know that HE is not.
To my opinion the more HE is ignored the better.

This might be a bigger embarrassment for G8 and UN that allows such a thug who killed over 1000 political prisoners and a Terror Master to speak at UN ….

What do you think?

WE, the undersigned, as members of the civilized freedom-loving people of the world, call urgently to prevent Terror/ Torture Master Ahmadinejad entering United States:

1- Mahmood Ahmadinejad is not elected president of Iran. Great Majority of Iranian people boycotted sham election and they have not participated in the recent Islamic election.
2- Ahmadinejad stepped on a picture of an American flag on his way to vote. Iranian nation have deep respect for all countries flag specially the American flag which is a cherished national symbol of freedom-loving American people and home of million Iranian-American people. Ahmadinejad is not a representative Iranian Nation.
3- Ahmadinejad plotted many dissident's murder and was directly involved in the 1989 assassination of Iranian exile Kurdish opposition leader Abdul Rahman Ghassemlou and two other Kurdish politicians in Vienna, Austria. A murderer and Terrorist is not a representative of freedom-loving Iranian Nation.
4- According to Ahmadinejad himself, he has executed at least 1000 freedom-loving Iranian people in the prison and he was known as “Tir Khalas Zan”, literally meaning “he who fires coup de grace”. Many female former political prisoners raped by Ahmadinejad. Such a dirty person and virus is not president of Iran.
5- Ahmadinejad is responsible for “Lovers of Martyrdom Garrison” in Iran that would recruit individuals willing to carry out suicide operations against Western targets. Do not allow this Terrorist to put his foot on US soil and enter UN.
6- Ahmadinejad played a central role in the seizure of the United States embassy in Tehran in November 1979 and he was key American hostage-taker for the 444-day.

How can you accept and allow this Brutal Man, Thug, Terror and Torture Master to put his feet on US soil and attend the UN General Assembly in New York?

"Human beings are all members of one body.
They are created from the same essence.
When one member is in pain,
The others cannot rest.
If you do not care about the pain of others,
You do not deserve to be called a human being."

To: The Honorable Senators and Members of the United States Congress

What is being brought to your attention is not a partisan issue; rather, it is crucial to our national security and our way of life. The Iranian People are in the midst of an epic struggle to reverse the course of history and in trying to stop the rise of Islamic Fundamentalism and terrorism. The Iranian People are fighting to save the soul of a nation, similar to what was happening prior to the establishment of a “Government by the people and for the people” here in the United States of America. The Iranian People are dismayed that their relentless efforts to overthrow this government have no European partners and that only President Bush has publicly challenged the Islamic government to allow free elections. They so desperately need your total support in order to return to the community of civilized nations.

This so called "election" was boycotted by all opposition groups inside and outside Iran. Even political prisoners such as Mr. Akbar Ganji and several other political prisoners, have been on a hunger strike for an extended time ( Mr. Ganji for) over 50 days and he is dangerously close to death, asked from their prison cells for the boycotting of the presidential "election". Another political prisoner, Mr. Manoochehr Mohammadi, is in coma.

Are you ready for this? Mr. Mahmood Ahmadinejad, the president (s)elect of the Islamic Republic is planning a trip to New York, a city where terrorists clearly showed what they are made of and what they intend to do! Secretary of State, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, has called the latest stage managed Presidential election in Iran “a sham election,” and rightly so. The man picked to lead Iran is a known terrorist who was definitely involved in one of the darkest events in Iran’s 2500 year history. Further, as a Commander in the Revolutionary Guard, he was the mastermind in assassinating the opposition both inside and outside Iran. Finally, he has personally executed hundreds of innocent Iranians whose only crime was advocating democracy. Mr. Ahmadinejad has recently supported the martyrdom brigades in Iran. For those of you unaware of what this is, the martyrdom brigades are supposed to be volunteers but are really individuals who have been brain washed and trained to be suicide bombers. The mission of the martyrdom brigades is to cause havoc and chaos in America and disrupt American business transactions world wide. You might be surprised to learn that their cause has been blessed by the so called Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution, Khamenei, as well as the President elect Ahmadinejad.

Maybe we did not speak up quickly enough during Hitler’s atrocities, but here is a second chance, something history rarely affords us. The Islamic Government is a menace to the world and an extremely dangerous threat to our national security and our way of life. Issuing a visa to this sub-human to enter the United States of America is a slap in the faces of the 52 American Diplomats held for 444 days as “hostages.” If this creature is permitted to enter our country, it would border on treason and tells the terrorists of the world that behind our tough talk of terrorism, we don’t really mean it.

Dear Senators and Members of Congress: Do your American duty, deny this gangster, terrorist and murderer a visa to enter the United States and protect America. We will expect nothing less. If his arrival becomes imminent, we will take our case to the American people. We will fight to reverse this moral injustice.

God Bless America,

Sincerely,

To: Honorable President George W. Bush

Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Khamenei selected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s forthcoming trip to New York to attend the United Nations Meeting has raised many eyebrows inside and outside Iran.

The thought of a man who was a major part of the 1979 U.S. embassy take over and hostage taking in Iran, who suddenly has become the President of an " axis’ of evil" regime, coming to the country whose diplomats he helped take hostage and to the city of New York where thousands of innocent people were brutally killed on September 11, 2001, at the hands of terrorist fundamentalists like him is indeed insulting to say the least.

This would be anther case of a comedy of errors. A hostage taker at the U.N General Assembly podium, what a message that one is going to send to the world brotherhood of terrorists.

Is a criminal hostage taker qualified to be given the privilege of diplomatic immunities? If he is granted a visa we denounce his visit and wish to announce to the world that this person in no way represents the of people of Iran who are peace loving people, and who have been hostages at the hands of this terrorist regime for the past 26 years. We also reserve the right of holding a peaceful demonstration denouncing Mr. Ahmadinejad’s presence at the session.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Tehran, Iran, Sep. 17 - Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been granted a visa to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, state media reported.

Ahmadinejad’s trip to the U.S., which would be his third in as many years, would last for four days, the government-owned news agency Fars said on Monday.

Ahmadinejad will begin his trip on September 23, the report said, adding that he would address the General Assembly. The UNGA’s 62nd session kicks off on Tuesday.

The report added that visas had not yet been issued for several members of the Iranian President’s entourage.

He is “unique & unusual” in the sense that after the fall of Germany there has been no other head of state that has officially announced “wiping out Israel off the face of earth”! Killing infidels, enabling and sponsoring full scale terrorism against its own people and other countries. There is no other “religious faction” in the recent history that promotes all that and is involved in a systematic genocide in Iran with his raghead cohorts.
Ignoring him would be similar to the so called “moderate Moslems” ignoring all the violence happening under the name of their religion. That silence, has drawn a big criticism of “peaceful Moslems” for not reacting harshly to everything happening under the name of their religion (Islam). I believe Iranian-American should ask for the help of all Americans, including previous hostages, and show pictures of his crimes, so everyone knows Iranians are not silent in the face of a thug coming to this country. I do hope there will be a huge demonstration with all kinds of pictures, not that he cares, but anything that might be shown in the media against him by Iranians is a good thing… remember the people in Iran do not have the luxury of protesting, they risk their life and do so. We have the freedom to demonstrate, and show our solidarity with our compatriot in Iran. This is the least we can do for them, not doing so would be a shame.
My only concern would be the MKO showing up with the pictures of Maryam & Massoud Rajavi!!!! like the last time, and the media showed them as "protesting Iranians with the pictures of their leaders"...implying that the Rajavi cult was representative for all Iranians...sickening.

Mon, 09/17/2007 - 15:37 — newsdesk
Sep 17, 2007 -- Boston, MA – Today, Governor Mitt Romney released a letter sent to the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urging "the United Nations to revoke any invitation to President Ahmadinejad to address the General Assembly."

In his letter, Governor Romney wrote:

"The Iranian regime under President Ahmadinejad has spoken openly about wiping Israel off the map, has fueled Hezbollah's terror campaign in the region and around the world, and defied the world community in its pursuit of nuclear weapons – capabilities that make these threats even more ominous. As General David Petraeus testified last week, Iran is also supporting Shia militia extremists and violence that is taking the lives of American soldiers and undermining the Iraqi government."

Governor Romney believes that the Iranian regime's record demands that the United Nations "take a strong stand against Iran's President Ahmadinejad." Failure to take such a stand would be a setback to efforts to address the dangerous and deadly actions taken by Iran's leaders. If the United Nations fails to act, Governor Romney wrote that "the United States must reconsider its level of support and funding for the United Nations as we look to rebuild and revitalize effective international partnerships to meet 21st century threats."

Today's letter builds on the comprehensive strategy to prevent a nuclear Iran that Governor Romney laid out in January 2007 at the annual Herzliya Conference in Israel. As part of this strategy, Governor Romney called for the diplomatic isolation of Iran. He also encouraged public pension funds to strategically divest from any businesses associated with the Iranian regime's dangerous activities. In September 2006, Governor Romney ordered state government agencies not to support the visit of former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami to the Boston area because of the Iranian regime's dangerous actions.

Dear Your Excellency; Mr. Ban Ki Moon:
I am writing you to express my painful displeasure at recent news regarding the
extension of an invitation to the President of the Islamic Republic, Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad, to attend a session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York
later this week.
It is very sad that at this very pivotal juncture in world history, a man who is not
only connected to, but actually directly responsible for countless atrocities in Iran and
abroad has not been confronted by the world’s largest international body. Repeatedly, the
United Nations has turned a blind eye to international criminal, sometimes even
embracing them and providing them with a platform to promote their questionable
agendas.
Mr. Ahmadinejad is the leader of a state, which in pursuing nuclear technology
has ignored the outrage of the entire free world. His government’s reckless disregard for
international law and world opinion is irresponsible to say the least. No less inflammatory
are Mr. Ahmadinejad’s demands calling for the annihilation of the state of Israel or its
removal to a location in central Europe. Mr. Ahmadinejad has also gone on record
questioning the historical reality of the holocaust and encouraging an artistic competition
to produce cartoons mocking the ethnic cleansing of the Jewish people during World War
II. Other tricks in Ahmadinejad’s policy book include hostage taking, torturing, stoning,
flogging, and hanging, most of which are purposely demonstrated in a public fashion for
the world to behold. But do we notice? And if we do, do we react?
Despite Mr. Ahmadinejad’s involvement in the brainwashing of millions of young
Iranians, in the trampling over of universally recognized human rights, in the systematic
abuse and oppression of women in Iran, and in expressing and delivering moral, tactical,
technical, and financial support for terrorists, we treat him as if he is a legitimate and
revered foreign dignitary, whose words are worth hearing! We hardly realize that we are
facing another Nazi Germany, another Hitler, and possibly another World War. When
are we going to wake up?

Peace-loving Iranians are currently engaged in a struggle for democracy against a
brutal theocracy that has suffocated their aspirations, one after another, for 28 years.
People around the world and the governments that represent them have expressed support
for the Iranians in their struggle. It is time for the United Nations to take a stronger stance
against Iran’s transgression. Yet by welcoming the ultimate enemy of the Iranian people
and one of contemporary history’s greatest villains, what kind of a message are we
projecting to the world and, more importantly, to the Iranians who have been tricked,
tortured, killed, and victimized by men like Ahmadinejad? What terrible injustice are we
doing to the millions of innocent Iranians who have suffered at the hands of the Islamic
Republic by ignoring the crimes of their rulers?
I thank you for your time and attention.
Respectfully;

Saeed Ganji; Ph.D., Sc.D.

Dear Cyrus

I think the arguments againt a demo are interesting, but I think a demo is still important.

Ideally speaking all the groups should be organizing a protest outside of the party he's having in NY on sunday night, and it would be great to see Reza Pahlavi there in addition to other opposition leaders & personalities. This is the only chance to protest in front of IRI's president on behalf of all who are unjustly killed or imprisoned in Iran, IMO.

He is granted a visa, nobody will deny him one no matter how many petitions are signed. He's coming and he's having a party. The question is, are we all going to let him have his fun party in the US without hearing from ex pat Iranian opposition groups?!

Dear Spenta and All,
Thank you for your hard work and contributions for freeing Motherland from Mafia Mullahs (Taazi) Occupiers of Iran.

Due to short notice, limited resources, scattered Iranian-American community through USA , and reality of getting permit for demonstration usually it is taking more than 2 weeks therefore rally by Iranian-American community against Ahamadinejad visit to UN might not be possible at this time.
However based on all suggestions from Freedom-loving Iranian compatriots with our limited resources and within short period of time recommend the following for your review and consideration:

- Writing sample objections open letters to UN and asking Iranian-American community to Email and Fax their letters to UN and News Media….
- Preparing facts sheet regarding Iranian people movements as hostages of Mullahs and Ahmadinejad…. Distributing Iranian people messages for Free Iran, Secular Democracy , Free Society, Human Rights, Stop Executions, Stop Tortures, and Free all political prisoners Now in front of UN ….
- Asking Prince Reza Pahlavi and others to setup News Conference in New York …
- Asking http://www.tazahorat.com for News Conference and possible actions …
- Freedom-loving Iranian people positions regarding Thug Ahmadinejad is documented in 3 different 2005 petitions as below:

Petition 11 (2005): Demanding To Prevent Terrorist Master Mahmood Ahmadinejad From Entering U.S.A. to Attend the UN General Assembly in New York in September[Majles Shora Hambastegi]

PETITION 13 (2005): Protesting Terrorist Ahmadinejad's Trip To U.S.A[SOSIRAN]

PETITION 18 (2005) : Denouncing Ahmadinejad's U.N. Visit[Roxanne Ganji]

- If you agree with above petitions please Fax it to UN and send it to Major News Media …
- The Iranian-American community who can afford put one page Ad (Open Letters, Petitions …) in different USA papers like New York Times , Big Billboards, and TV Advertisements … Please don't wait for others to tell you what to do , please use your good judgement and act based on your resources.
- Educate your fellow Iranian-American community what to do? And How to Fight ?

Please share other recommendations with your fellow compatriots privately and publicly ….

Regards,
Cyrus

Washington: Two Republican presidential candidates, Mitt Romney and John McCain, have denounced Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to the United Nations later this month, demanding that he be kept out of the United States.

The Washington Times, in an editorial on Tuesday, writes, “It is a disgrace to the founding principles and mission of the United Nations that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be allowed to speak before the body next week during the gathering of its General Assembly. Ahmadinejad, who is slated to speak next Tuesday in New York City, has openly called for the destruction of Israel, a UN member-state. ‘God willing, in the near future we will witness the destruction of the corrupt occupier regime,’ Ahmadinejad said in June. In 2005, he claimed that Israel ‘must be wiped out from the map of the world’.”

Pointing out that such rhetoric has been condemned by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the right-wing newspaper calls on him to take more concrete action against the Ahmadinejad regime.

“State Department officials have defended Ahmadinejad’s speaking engagement, saying the UN is a place where member states can engage in dialogue, regardless of how the world despises its actions. Such a stance is puzzling.

Under the shadow of the Holocaust, the United Nations was founded in 1945 by a war-torn world weary of conflict and was ready to embrace peace, social progress and human rights.

Ahmadinejad has chosen not to engage in a respectful dialogue and is instead calling for another genocide - and of the same original victims.

This is in flagrant disregard of the UN’s mission,” the editorial states.

Noting that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has expressed outrage at Ahmadinejad’s presence in New York, pointing out in a letter to Ban Ki-moon that “the despot is supporting Hezbollah’s terrorist efforts, flouting the international community through his nuclear weapons programme and supporting Shiite militia extremists in Iraq”, he had called on the United States to reconsider its participation in the UN should the body continue to act as a “toothless overseer when it comes to Iran”.

The editorial also takes note of Republican Senator John McCain, who on Monday also condemned Ahmadinejad’s visit.

“We urge politicians on both sides of the aisle to join these ranks and demand increased UN pressure on Ahmadinejad,” the Washington Times pleads.

Subject: URGENT ACTION: Call Mayor Bloomberg to oppose Ahmadinejad tour of Ground Zero

Sept. 19, 2007: Just Say No! to Ahmadinejad tour of Ground Zero.

The Foundation for Democracy in Iran is calling on all Americans, regardless of their origin or political beliefs, to contact the office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to oppose allowing Ahmadinejad to tour Ground Zero during his visit to New York next week.

NY City police commissioner Raymond Kelly announced today that the Mayor's office was "in discussions" with the Iranian regime's Permanent UN mission and the U.S. Secret Service to arrange the visit. FDI president Kenneth R. Timmerman called an Ahmadinejad tour of Ground Zero an "unconscionable outrage to the memories of our dead," and warned that the Iranian president was seeking "bragging rights" with his terrorist friends.
